Bio
Sometimes its hard to say enough without saying too much. Jung Profit is above all a powerful lyricists with a life and a message that are not only unique, but more thought provoking and honest than most rappers of this decade. His music educates and inspires, embodying that of what he has lived, seen and learned. Having had to serve a harsh prison sentence under the former NYS Rockefeller Drug laws. Jung developed his sound, production and writing skills as best he could under the circumstances.
Able to find hope when it seemed to be an endless road of denial and rejection, he was finally released to parole in Spring to 2007 and has since begun work on a new project to put forth a never before heard manifesto on the American culture from the bottom to top.
Collaborating with fellow artist Juno, who is also accustomed to the pain and agony of incarceration, the two look to redefine public thought and preconceptions on many important everyday issues taken for granted. In hopes of bringing new shape to Hip Hop and Rap with new artistic expression and risks.
Most of these works were recorded prior to his incarceration. Book Cover & Church for a Hustler are two very different yet similar albums put together to paint a vivid portrait of what the hood and hip hop media call a hustler. They show two perspectives on the often over hyped and falsly glamorized life of drug dealing and the lifestyle that accompanies crime. They are finally being released due to there strong timeless lyricisim and will give some idea of what may evolve with Jung Profit's growth and maturity. Stay posted for the new & earth shattering full lenghth release slated for Summer '08.
